Cathedral of St John the Devine - New York - John Dukes Photography

John Dukes Photography

The architectural detail all throughout the Cathedral of St John the Devine in New York City is nothing short of sensational. Walking into this place is like stepping back in time to the Middle Ages. And the photography opportunities are endless. This is a prayer room inside the cathedral, where worshippers and members of the congregation gather in smaller groups. There are several of these rooms behind the main worship area where the ceremonies and masses take place. I can literally spend an entire day in this place, capturing photographs. A wide angle lens is a must to capture the extraordinary detail all throughout this extravagant church. I also used a platypod to set my Canon R5 on the ground to get a low composition. This one is shot at 14mm, 3.2 seconds, f/11, ISO 100.
